Rolling Hills Insane Asylum - August 28, 2010 in Bethany, NY
We had a total of 12 investigators from all over the east coast and some from PA.
Rolling Hills has quite some history. Originally built back in 1827 as the Genesee Poor House that housed orphaned children, families, elderly, physically handicapped, mentally unstable, morally corrupt and even criminals until 1887. Those who died and had no families to claim their bodies where buried on the property in unmarked graves. The facility was then closed in 1974 and remained vacant for 20 yrs. The new proprietors, Sharon and Jerry Coyle recently purchased the Asylum at an auction and are now trying restore it to keep this historical location open to the public. While in the Electroshock Therapy room, Donna and I were discussing an object that was near the machine and a male voice which appears in distress imprinted his voice onto my recorder as we never heard this when we were there. You will notice in the EVP file that we just continue our coversation while this gentleman is crying out for help and sounds like he was right next to us. Could he have been still laying on the bed in the mist of having a treatment? One will never know. However, being there and now hearing this EVP is very disturbing thinking what he may have been going through. The EVP file is labeled Rolling Hills. Please click this link to hear for yourself.
After 28 years of investigating this was the one place that I can officially say scared me. The EVP's, the shadow people, knocks, footsteps and doors slamming in your face. A paranormal investigators dream. We will definitely be back.
